Saffron Cordery responds to the latest appointments to NHS England’s transition team

Responding to reported appointments to NHS England’s transition team, the interim chief executive of NHS Providers, Saffron Cordery, said:
“These changes show the incoming leadership at NHS England is moving at pace to pull together a new team.
“This significant change in the top team will have far reaching repercussions across the NHS as a radical reorganisation takes shape.
“While we see merit in moving decisively to bring the new team together, the scale and speed of the changes will inevitably raise concerns over how the NHS can maintain momentum on transforming services and the important three shifts at a time of organisational upheaval.
“It is encouraging to see recognition of provider trust leaders’ experience and insights in the evolving line up.
“It will be important to ensure the perspectives of mental health, community and ambulance leaders are given due weight, alongside those of colleagues from the acute sector.”
