Responding to the announcement that Matthew Taylor will be standing down as chief executive of NHS Confederation from April next year, the chief executive of NHS Providers, Daniel Elkeles, said:
"I would like to pay tribute to Matthew for the great contribution he has made for Confed, for the NHS, and for the support he has given to me personally.
"He has played an important role in helping to drive forward key developments in health and care.
"Matthew has been a great advocate for the benefits of collaboration and partnership working, which we have seen at close hand through our many joint initiatives.
"He has helped lay the groundwork as our respective organisations explore the potential for still closer collaboration in the future.
"I look forward to working with him in the coming months to ensure we can deliver the best possible advocacy and support for our members, their staff and for NHS patients.
