Overview

As the use of AI becomes increasingly embedded across the NHS communications landscape, the importance of having a clear, responsible approach that protects trust and reflects the values and responsibilities of NHS communications becomes ever clearer.

The next NHS Communications AI Network event will take a closer look at one of the most important questions facing communications teams: how can we use AI responsibly, while keeping people and professional judgement at the centre?

Why this matters

We'll be bringing together communications professionals from across the NHS to explore the choices, responsibilities, and safeguards that need to sit alongside the opportunities presented by AI. Looking beyond the technology itself, we'll be focusing on the people affected by its use - our colleagues, patients, communities and audiences.

We'll also be launching three new resources designed to help your teams move from discussion to action:

  1. Our updated Operating Framework - setting out a clear, practical approach to responsible AI use in NHS Communications.
  2. Our Workshop in a Box - a ready-to-use resource to help teams have constructive conversations about AI, explore risks and opportunities, and agree local approaches.
  3. Our new self-assessment tool - helping organisations understand where they are now, identify areas for development, and plan their next steps.

Alongside the launches, the event will provide an opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from approaches from across health and care.

Who should attend

This event is strictly for NHS communications and engagement professionals involved in developing, using, or overseeing AI within communications.

You do not need to be an AI specialist to attend. The session is designed to support open discussion, practical learning, and shared problem solving, wherever you are on your journey.
